Head of External Innovation Technologies @ BAYER AG


Stefan Jaroch studied chemistry at the University of Bonn and Munich, followed by a postdoc stay at the University of California, Irvine. He worked in various roles within the medicinal chemistry departments of Schering AG in Berlin, Berlex Biosciences in Richmond, CA, and Bayer Schering Pharma in Wuppertal, before moving to his current position as Head of Strategic Technology Partnerships within Bayer  Pharmaceuticals’ R&D Open Innovation unit with responsibilities for partnering activities referring to early drug discovery assets, technologies, and services, also including responsibility for Bayer’s CoLaborator in Berlin. Stefan led IMI’s European Lead Factory as project coordinator and now heads IMI’s ESCulab project. He holds an honorary professorship at the chemistry department of the Philipps-Universität Marburg.
