Piero Formica started his career at the OECD Economic Prospects Division in Paris. He is Founder of the International Entrepreneurship Academy and was Professor of Economics at the Jönköping University in Sweden. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Innovational Value Institute (co-founded by Intel Co.) of the Maynooth University in Ireland. He is an Associate Professor at ISTEC (Ecole Supériere de Commerce et de Marketing) in Paris, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tehran and a Guest Professor at the University of Tartu. Piero is a Councilor of the World Certificate Institute and serves as a faculty member of the School of Entrepreneurship at the University of Padua.

Professor Formica received several honors that include being appointed Erudite Scholar University of Calicut; Guest Professor at King Saud University in Riyadh; International Professor of Knowledge Economics and Entrepreneurship at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Abu Dhabi; and member of the Board of Governors of the University of Bologna, Italy.

Professor Formica serves as board member of Industry & Higher Education; the International Journal of the Knowledge Economy; the International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development; the Journal of Global Entrepreneurship Research; and the South Asian Journal of Management.

Professor Formica has extensively published in the fields of knowledge economics, entrepreneurship and innovation. THE EXPERIMENTAL NATURE OF NEW VENTURE CREATION.
