GIOVANNI BRIANZA

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT – STRATEGY, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION @  EDISON

SHORT BIO

Giovanni Brianza (Milan, May 7, 1973) graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and obtained an MBA (Master of Business Administration) at the School of Business Management of Bocconi University.

He began his career at Pirelli Pneumatici where he held various roles in logistics and production planning at the Carlisle (UK) and Milan offices.

In 1999 he joined Edison to deal with development in the water and energy sector.

In 2004 he moved to Paris in Électricité de France (EDF), took responsibility for strategies in the Italian market and worked on redefining Edison’s shareholding structure.

In 2006, he returned to Edison as Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, with support functions for the coordination of the main corporate processes and responsibility for special projects.

In 2009 he was appointed Director of M&A and later, in 2013, Director of Strategic Planning and M&A of Edison.

In 2018 Giovanni Brianza joins the Executive Committee of Edison as Executive Vice President – Strategy, Corporate Development & Innovation.

He is CEO of EPER (Edison Partecipazioni Energie Rinnovabili), member of the Board of Directors of Edison Energia and E2i Energie Speciali and member of the Strategic Committee of Electranova Capital II (Paris-based venture capital fund).

Giovanni Brianza is a member of the BAA (Bocconi Alumni Association) Advisory Board and Fellow of the Council for Relations between Italy and the United States.
